Job Policies

Handshake is Emory’s web-based job & internship posting and interview scheduling system that allows employers 24/7 access to current students as well as recent alumni.

Opportunities for current students and alumni from Emory College of Arts & Sciences and the Goizueta Undergraduate Business School, as well as the Laney Graduate School and Candler School of Theology, should be posted through The Career Center’s Handshake system.

All positions should be pre-professional or professional in nature, augmenting a student and/or alumnus’ professional endeavor. Opportunities must be career-related internships, research, or entry level post-graduation jobs, and be posted for students and recent alumni.

The Career Center reserves the right to determine posting eligibility and decline positions deemed unsuitable for students seeking full‐time, internship, or relevant part-time positions. In addition, employers must abide by Emory Internship Policies governed by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Account requests and positions are usually approved within 48 hours. Please note, The Career Center will not post any positions with application deadlines that are more than 30-60 days from the date posted. We recommend that employers log back into Handshake once a posting has expired and extend the deadline if additional applicants are desired. Employers may select an expiration date earlier than the 30 day default.

There is no guarantee that we will be able to fill your position in any given period of time.

In addition, employers must abide by Emory Internship Policies governed by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Employers and organizations recruiting at The Career Center are expected to adhere to:
